Even though Aerosvit Airline, one of Ukraine's largest air carriers, has filed for bankruptcy, flights between Vilnius and Kiev have been operating as usual so far.

Sandra Šiaulienė, a spokeswoman for Vilnius Airport, told BNS on Friday that she had no official information about any possible delays or cancellations of Aerosvit's flights.

"To my knowledge, at the moment, we have no official information from Aerosvit Airline about any possible flight disruptions," she said.

The Russian news agency Interfax reported on Friday that Kiev's Boryspil International Airport had suspended servicing of AeroSvit flights.

According to media reports, Kiev's regional economic court ruled to start bankruptcy proceedings against the air carrier on 29 December.

It has been announced that Ukraine International Airlines plans to replace Aerosvit as the operator of the Vilnius-Kiev route starting from the end of March.
