The first stores of the international fashion retailer would be opened in Lithuania in the fall of 2013, Akropolis Group said in a press release.

“We are happy that the Hennes & Mauritz chain has chosen Akropolis malls as its partners for expansion in Lithuania. H&M launched its expansion in the Baltic countries in Riga this fall but the chain’s outlet in Akropolis mall in Vilnius will be the largest in the Baltic countries,” the press release quotes Renata Jakubčionienė, the head of rent division at Akropolis LT that operates Akropolis malls in Vilnius, Klaipėda, and Šiauliai.

H&M said in January that it planned to open 275 new stores in Bulgaria, Latvia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Mexico this year. H&M is the third largest clothes retailer worldwide after Spain’s Inditex and American Gap.

The company, established in Sweden back in 1947, has around 2,500 stores in 43 countries and employs a workforce of 94,000.
