Apranga Group, the Baltics' biggest clothing retailer, has invested around 3 million litas (EUR 870,000) in the Baltics' second Burberry store, which opened for business in Riga on Friday.

Apranga opened the 315-square-meter store under a franchise arrangement with Burberry, the group said in a statement to the NASDAQ OMX Vilnius stock exchange.

Apranga opened the first 230-square-meter Burberry store in Tallinn in mid-August, having invested around 3 million litas. The group plans to open another Burberry store in Vilnius in the autumn of 2013, with investments expected to amount to between 3 million and 3.5 million litas.

Apranga Group currently operates a chain of 131 stores in the Baltic countries, including 87 in Lithuania, 32 in Latvia, and 12 in Estonia.
