The company’s board accepted his resignation letter on Friday, Teo LT said in a press release.

“During the last nine years, Teo LT became one of the largest telecommunication companies in the Baltic countries, providing universal communication, data transmission, television and IT services. The company has become a socially active and responsible leader of its sector. We are particularly proud that, together with one of the most professional teams in Lithuania, we have managed to ensure both high profitability and high trust of the customers. With all these goals achieved, I am ready for new professional activities,” the press release quoted Šikšta as saying.

Šikšta worked as CEO of Teo LT from January 2004.

Giedrius Vegys, CFO of Teo LT, has been appointed acting CEO of the company, effective from Saturday, February 23. Vegys has headed the financial service of the company since April 2009. He joined Teo LT in 2004 as the head of risk management unit.

“I believe that Giedrius Vegys will lead a smooth transition until the appointment of a new general manager,” Marin Frenning, Teo LT chairwoman, said.
