The Lithuanian Supreme Administrative Court ruled on Monday that the competition authority had had sufficient grounds for imposing the fine on the company, but reduced it by 412,000 litas, Simona Tolušytė, acting head of the court's Law and Competition Policy Division, told BNS.
Following an additional investigation, the Competition Council fined Orlen Lietuva 8.231 million litas in 2010. It had imposed a 32-million-litas fine on the company five years ago.
The new fine was imposed on December 16, 2010 after the authority, as ordered by a court, had carried out an additional investigation into Orlen Lietuva's actions and revised its findings of five years before. Orlen Lietuva contested the findings in a court and received back the money it had paid as fine.
