The Grand SPA Lietuva complex, which has 247 rooms, has already been booked up and foreigners will account for around 90 percent of guests.
“Some Russian tourists will be coming for a week, others will stay longer – for two weeks. They are coming both to celebrate and to enjoy health treatments,” Irma Rudelytė, sales manager at Grand SPA Lietuva, told the daily.
Smaller guest houses were almost booked up as well, Ana Kaciun, a representative of Druskininkai information center, told the daily.
“We have also polled smaller guest houses, which are usually the last ones to be filled. People tend to choose health spas and big hotels in the first place. But now even the small ones are fully or almost fully booked,” Kaciun said.
Some 22,000 guests, including 12,700 Lithuanians and 9,300 foreigners, stayed in accommodation establishments last January. Druskininkai expects to achieve similar results this coming January.
