“The company is expanding its business consistently by adapting its successful business formula in geographically closest locations hence it is expanding to the Baltic countries from Finland. The next stage of expansion will be Russia where the company will apply the same formula of success as in Finland, other Baltic countries,” Ieva Salmela, Hesburger’s development director for the Baltic countries and Russia, told the daily.

The company has invested more than 12 million litas (EUR 3.48m) in its Lithuanian operations so far this year. Moreover, the company speaks about plans to invest in production.

“We plan to produce mayonnaise in Kaunas, this facility should supply all Hesburger restaurants in the Baltic countries, perhaps in other markets as well, with mayonnaise,” Salmela said. However, the company would not provide any details about these investment plans for the meantime.

Hesburger last year saw its revenues in Lithuania grow by 38 percent from 2010, to around 25 million litas.
