US Internet giant Google has released updated maps for Lithuania and nine other European countries.

"The Google Maps team works constantly to ensure that the geographic data behind our maps is comprehensive and accurate. As part of this ongoing effort, we've just released updated maps for 10 countries and regions in Europe: Andorra, Bulgaria, Estonia, Gibraltar, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain," Google said in a press release on Wednesday.

Among other things, Google Maps integrates information such as walking paths, ferry lines, building outlines, park boundaries, and university campuses, it said.

Google said last June that it would launch Google Maps Street View in Lithuania, but has not done so yet.

Google planned to make the Street View service for Lithuania available by the end of this year. However, the company's representative Šarūnas Pundžius told BNS in late November that no official launch date had been set yet. He said that Lithuanian street view images and other data were being processed.
