The new trading location will change the city’s development and its directions, businessmen project.

The Scandinavian giant may be interested in partners that could offer the goods complementing Ikea’s range of products or an unusual trading concept. The experts urge businesses to try to hold talks with Ikea’s representatives as soon as possible.

Icelandic-owned Felit, which has confirmed that it would open an Ikea shopping center in Vilnius on a franchise basis and the construction of the center would be launched this year, still do not make any detailed comments.

According to the daily’s sources, although the final concept of the shopping center is not yet clear, certain retail chains are already interested in opening stores in Ikea’s neighborhood.

Investments in Ikea’s store with the area of 24,800 square meters will reach some 163 million litas (EUR 47.2 mln) and total investments in the shopping center will exceed 207 million litas. The area allocated for other traders will make up some 75,000 square meters.
