Approximately two-thirds of companies listed in Lithuania generated profits and raised their revenues in 2011, the Bank of Lithuania said in its latest review.

Total revenues of 31 listed companies, excluding commercial banks and Linas Agro Group, which runs its business year from July to June, rose by 40 percent versus 2010, to 12.9 billion litas (EUR 3.7 b). In the fourth quarter alone, the revenues of those companies increased by 30 percent, year-on-year, to 3.5 billion litas.

The aggregate net earnings of listed companies totaled 1.02 billion litas last year. Excluding the one-off earnings of 473.3 million litas, which the pharmaceutical company Sanitas declared for the fourth quarter, and taking Sanitas’ earnings on core activities into account, the combined net earnings of listed companies last year totaled 612.3 million litas, up 7 percent versus 2010.

The earnings were reported by 21 companies (down from 22 in 2010), which generated the total net profit of 1.19 billion litas, up 59 percent from 2010. The remaining ten companies (up from 7 in 2010) suffered a combined net loss of 169.1 million litas, up 3 percent versus 2010.
