“The year is approaching the end, the flow of negative and contradictory information is significant, people do not see any actual improvements in living standards, hence their moods and expectations are deteriorating,” RAIT chairwoman Inga Nausėdienė said in a press release.

Some 40 percent of respondents (up from 28 percent in August) believed in September that Lithuania’s economic situation would worsen significantly or worsen in the next three months.

Moreover, 36 percent (up from 21 percent in August) believe that their personal or their household financial standing will worsen significantly or worsen in the next three-month period.

RAIT polled more than 1,000 people in Lithuania between 31 August and 17 September.
