"Poland has become Small Planet Airline's number one market this year. The flow of Polish holidaymakers is not subsiding. It is even growing," Small Planet Airlines CEO Vytautas Kaikar said.
Small Planet Airlines generated most of last year's revenues from Italy, but this year, the country's tourism market is slowing down. Kaikaris said that the number of Italian holidaymakers dropped by around 30 percent this year.
Small Planet Airlines has also entered Germany, with plans to launch its first flights in the country in the summer of 2013. This year, the company operates own-branded flights from the United Kingdom, with one aircraft stationed at London's Gatwick Airport and another at Manchester Airport.
The carrier this year operates two small Boeing 737-300 aircraft from Lithuania. "We have cut the umber of seats, because the Lithuanian charter flight market is contracting. Low-fare airlines are among the reasons," said Kaikaris.
Small Planet Airlines is owned by the Lithuanian-based aviation group Avia Solutions Group, which is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
