Lithuanian Gas pays EUR 440 mln to Gazprom for gas in 2012

Lietuvos Dujos (Lithuanian Gas), the Lithuanian gas importer and supplier, paid 1.519 billion litas (EUR 440.3 mln) for natural gas acquired from Russia’s gas giant Gazprom in 2012, up 3.7 percent from 1.465 billion litas paid in 2011.

Also, Lietuvos Dujos paid 1.518 million litas for gas acquired from Latvijas Gaze, down 6 percent from 1.615 million litas in 2011, the Lithuanian company said in its 2012 report.

In line with December 1999 agreement between Lietuvos Dujos and Gazprom, the price of gas depends on HFO and gasoil prices on international markets, the US dollar and euro ratio set by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the actual calorific value of natural gas.

The agreement is valid until 31 December 2015.
