This would mostly result from cuts in gas consumption by companies, she said adding that the share of households in the consumption of gas was minor.
“The first reason is that the heat producers are shifting to the use of biofuel. The second reason is the active shift to the use of biofuel in the industrial sector...,” Korsakaitė said at the meeting with the Investors’ Association on Thursday.
The supply of gas by Gazprom to Lithuania last year declined by 2.6 percent, year-on-year, to 3.32 billion cubic meters, according to the quarterly report of the Russian gas giant.
