Money circulation in Lithuania down to 3.03 billion euro

Currency in circulation in Lithuania declined by 350.8 million litas since December, reaching 10.462 billion litas (EUR 3.03 b), the central bank said on Tuesday.

Residents’ deposits with the Bank of Lithuania declined by 1.607 billion litas, month-on-month, to 6.569 billion litas, of which the deposits of other monetary financial institutions were down by 2.63 billion litas, to 3.838 billion litas.

Central government deposits contracted by 4.618 billion litas, to 1.701 billion litas.

The central bank’s capital and reserves rose by 18.2 million litas over the month, to reach 2.4 billion litas at the end of January.
