Over two-thirds of Lithuanians use PCs and browse Internet

More than two-thirds, or 70 percent, of Lithuania’s population use computers and 68 percent browse the World Wide Web, the latest survey commissioned by the Information Society Development Committee (IVPK) has shown.

The percentage of PC users rose by 2 percentage points in the second quarter versus the same period last year, and the percentage of internauts grew by 3.5 points, the panel said.

According to the latest data, close to 6 percent of Lithuania’s residents who are still not using a PC or Internet, intend to join the ranks of PC and Internet users within next twelve months.

The survey was conducted by the market researcher TNS LT, which polled 1,730 Lithuania’s residents between 27 February and 20 May.
