"The harvesting should be completed within several says, if all goes well. We are late already, because we harvest most crops in August in a normal year," Romas Majauskas, president of the Lithuanian Grain Growers' Association, told BNS.
The ministry said that 96 percent of the total rye crop, 93 percent of barley, and 92.6 percent of wheat had been threshed. The average grain yield amounts to 4.6 tons per hectare, and the average rapeseed yield to 3.1 tons.
Lithuania's grain harvest this year is expected to hit a record and total around 4.5 million tons.
