“We discussed the possibilities for telecommunications activities in Lithuania and investments. We spoke about distant future hence we did not speak about specific investments,” Granryd told the reporters after the meeting with Kubilius.

He noted that machine-to-machine services could be developed in Lithuania but would not mention any specific dates.

Mykolas Majauskas, an aide to Kubilius, would not name any specific investment projects, either.

“It is a yet another company we are discussing potential investments with. We did not speak about specific plans for any specific objects. We spoke about the possibilities for investing being offered,” Majauskas told the reporters.

Tele2 is upgrading its 2G and 3G network and is getting ready to roll out 4G services. The company invested 9.5 million litas (EUR 2.75m) in the upgrade of its network in three months.
