The company, which is developing the project, said that it received two final offers on December 20.
Sources tell BNS that Germany's PPS Pipeline Systems and Lithuania's Kauno Dujotiekio Statyba (Kaunas Pipeline Construction) had expressed interest. Both companies have built pipelines for Lietuvos Dujos (Lithuanian Gas) in the past and Kauno Dujotiekio Statyba is currently building the Tauragė-Klaipėda gas transmission pipeline in western Lithuania.
A contract is likely to be signed in January and will take full effect after it is approved by Klaipėdos Nafta management board and shareholders.
Klaipėdos Nafta spokeswoman Indre Milinienė has told BNS that the interconnecting pipeline from the LNG terminal pier to Lietuvos Dujos' distribution station is a key part of the project's infrastructure.
The LNG terminal's business plan estimates that around 70 million litas (EUR 20.3m) will have to be spent on linking the terminal to the gas transmission pipeline, which Lietuvos Dujos is to build between Tauragė and Klaipėda.
