The 18th Christopher Summer Festival, described by its organizers as the biggest festival in Lithuania, will feature new cycles – an accordion week and nighttime piano recitals at St. Catherine's Church with young talents.

Donatas Katkus, art director of the festival, says that the accordion program would include six concerts by accordion professionals from Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, etc.

The festival will for the first time include a series of piano recitals by piano virtuosos Rokas Valuntonis, Kšištofas Markevičius, Paulius Rudokas, Monika Daržinkevičiūtė, Paulius Andersson and Efvioli quintet.

The 18th Christopher Summer Festival kicked off on 17 June and will continue until 9 September – it will include 55 concerts in Vilnius, as well as Šešuolėliai and Taujėnai estates, Vilnius University's Botanical Garden.

This year's festival will feature a traditional cycle of sacred music in 11 free concerts, the traditional Christopher Guitars and the closing concerts Three Minutes of Love Affair presenting tango music from the most famous feature films.

The Danish Culture Institute is cooperating to prepare a concert of one of Europe's best guitar quartets Corona, while the Spanish Embassy will present sarsuela – a blend of drama, music and dance – and invite to a Flamenco Fiesta.
