Lithuania’s Internet usage grows

Some 67 percent of the Lithuanian population used the Internet at least once a week this past fall, up 4 percentage points from 63 percent last summer, the latest survey by TNS LT has shown.

The percentage of those browsing the net at least once a month increased to 69 percent, from 68 percent in summer, and the percentage of those using the Internet at least once in six months remained unchanged, at 70 percent, the market research company said in a report.

Looking at various age groups, Internet usage remained virtually unchanged – at 99 percent in the age group of 15-19 years (up from 97 pct in summer), at 93 percent in the age group of 20-29 years (down from 94 pct), at 89 percent in the age group of 30-39 years (up from 82 pct), at 73 percent in the age group of 40-49 years (down from 75 pct), and at 40 percent in the age group of 50-74 years (down from 41 pct).

TNS LT polled 1,581 residents of Lithuania between 3 September and 18 November.
