10 Grybauskaitė’s years. To Latvians and Estonians – a principled and arrogant leader

The Baltic States saw changes in their presidents a number of times through 2009-2019, but of course not Lithuania. While Dalia Grybauskaitė remained in office, Estonia saw its president change once, while Latvia – three times already. How do Latvians and Estonians view our country’s now-former president?

Without a doubt, the institution of the president has more power in Lithuania than in neighbouring Latvia and Estonia – in these countries, their constitutions have set out the creation of a parliamentary, not semi-presidential republic.
