Analysts: in Warsaw, G. Nausėda will not avoid questions about the circumstances of Lithuanian Poles

Most analysts view the new Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda’s decision to go to neighbouring Poland for his first official visit as a positive step. That said, while G. Nausėda will likely not be pressured regarding the Polish minorities, he may face questions regarding it and the compromises proposed by the president during the presidential campaign are not viewed as such by Poland.

From the very start of his presidential campaign, G. Nausėda stated that he views Poland as a strategic partner for Lithuania and promised to dedicate particular attention to this country.
