According to the poll carried out by public opinion and market research company Spinter Tyrimai (Spinter Surveys), 29-30 percent of those polled most appreciate the three provisions.

Meanwhile, 25 percent of respondents said they attached the greatest importance to the right to personal immunity, dignity and freedom.

About one in five said the most important provisions of the Constitution were about the free choice of the place of residence in Lithuania or emigration. Somewhat fewer respondents – 17.7 percent and 16 percent, respectively – said protection against discrimination and the freedom to have and express beliefs were the key principles stipulated in the Constitution.

Another 13-14 percent of respondents said the most important were the right to choose a job and receive a fair pay, participate in state governance and the right to defend the state against different types of aggressors.

Some 8 percent and 8.6 percent of those polled, respectively, said the right to hold peaceful protests and strikes were also important.

The survey of 1,008 people was carried out on 20-28 February.
