Neringa Marcinkevičiūtė, spokeswoman for the court, told BNS on Monday that Adomavičius had been suspended as a vice-mayor, councilor, and supervisor delegated by Vilnius Municipality to various enterprises.

The Special Investigation Service has brought suspicions against Adomavičius of having accepted a bribe of LTL 40,000 (over EUR 11,400) in exchange for a promise to influence municipal staff so that they made a favorable decision in a public tender for services worth LTL 8 million (EUR 2.32 million).

Adomavičius is facing a jail term of up to 8 years.

The vice-mayor denies all accusations and says the money found by investigators in his possession was his personal funds meant for the election campaign.
