“Farmer” dream coalition: reining in a “spineless” V. Uspaskich and crushing the Conservatives
The Lithuanian Farmer and Greens Union’s (LVŽS) leaders are hopeful for a left-wing coalition despite how it wasn’t they who earned the most trust from voters and how in the second round of the Seimas elections, there will be far more right wing party candidates in the running. The “Farmers” are firmly attributing the Labour Party to the left despite its leader Viktor Uspaskich manoeuvring and saying that he would gladly also work in the opposition and also congratulates the Freedom Party with its success. Do the leftist powers seeking to form a coalition even need a “Labour” crutch? Perhaps the LVŽS’ desire to form a coalition is a pipe dream? What could the “Farmers” do in order to make it into a reality?
