Gedvilas said that the Labor Party's votes against the report was not a sign of revenge for the so-called Labor Party bookkeeping fraud trial.

"It is a sign for the prosecutor that he should rethink his work, operations, methods of work and possibly the results of work, it is a serious sign that the prosecutor does not enjoy broad trust among the Seimas members," the parliamentary speaker told Žinių Radijas news radio on Wednesday morning in comment of Tuesday's ballot on the prosecutor general's report of operations.

On Tuesday, the parliament rejected the report of the Prosecutor General's Office. As a result, the parliament's Committee on Law will have to improve the draft resolution that suggested approving the report.

"There is no revenge, the trial continues, courts are doing their job, we're doing ours, it is just that prosecutors should rethink their operations with utmost seriousness," Gedvilas said when asked whether the Labor Party's position towards the prosecutor general was a sign of revenge.
