According to Kubilius, the fact was also stressed by British Prime Minister David Cameron who joined the traditional meeting for the second time this year.

"Yesterday British Prime Minister Cameron said he was joining a great region. The Nordic-Baltic region has the image of an efficient region, especially compared to South Europe," Kubilius said in an interview for the Žiniu Radijas (News Radio) from Stockholm.

Cameron joined the meeting for the first time after he had invited Nordic and Baltic prime ministers to come to London last year. This year, the meeting was organized in Stockholm.

The UK has recently come under severe criticism from other European countries for having refused to sign the European Union fiscal discipline pact.
