A relevant agreement on visa center services in Russia and Ukraine was signed between the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry and VFS Global company in Vilnius on Thursday.
Selected by way of public tender, the company will provide its services in 28 centers in territories of Russia and Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry said.
Some of the visa centers will be opened in mid-March, while the rest will start providing services in early April.
In Russia, filling out visa applications at visa centers will cost 18 euros, if no biometric data is collected, and 20 euros for applications with biometric data. In Ukraine, the services will cost 19.5 euros and 21.5 euros, respectively.
Travelers will be able to receive their passports with Schengen visas at a visa center, with the possibility to receive it to a specified address for an additional fee.
"Cooperation with the provider of services is a new opportunity for foreigners willing to come to Lithuania and Lithuanian businesses, which are urged to take advantage of the opportunity, as such geographic coverage and access was not available until now," the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said in the press release.
