The aim of the concert is to raise as much money as possible for the outstanding young musical talents of Lithuania: to acquire quality instruments for them, to train their class with today's leading educators, to travel to major European music competitions and other activities related to their development.

United for a common purpose

The Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation’s supported children and musicians known in Lithuania and all around the world will share the scene of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. This is an exceptional show where children will play together with renowned performers spreading the name of Lithuania.

The Winner of the Lithuanian National Prize pianist prof. Mūza Rubackytė will play on stage. As she says: “Music masters must contribute to the education of gifted children and encourage them to move forward”.

“Children are our future. My inner need is to help to unveil the talents of our country, to support them, to pass-on my knowledge and experience” says prof. Mūza Rubackytė.

One of the world's most famous cellists prof. David Geringas, charismatic jazz singer Laura Budreckytė will attend the concert on the same purpose.

The Alumni of the Foundation - winner of international competitions violinist Dalia Kuznecovaitė and well-known Lithuanian pianist Simona Zajančauskaitė-Giedraitė will join the concert.

The Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra will accompaniment for the soloists during the concert.

Honorary guests - M. Rostropovich’s daughter and the President of the Foundation Jelena Rostropovich, as well as Sergey Krylov - Artistic Director of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra - will also attend the event.

So many celebrities in one place in the name of the generous purpose – making easier our supported children to achieve their dreams and goals. Many of the children sponsored by the Foundation have performed on major world stages and played with renowned orchestras.

“I want to deny the myth that a talented performer can show his potential by playing an instrument of any quality. High-quality instruments are essential for the gifted children to grow and develop their skill so that they could represent Lithuania properly as the future music ambassadors of Lithuania. The price of a quality instrument can range from a few to a few dozen or even tens of thousands of euros,” says Rasa Kubilienė, Chairman of the Board of M. Rostropovich Charity and Support Foundation.

"Every person who has bought a ticket to the concert or otherwise supported the Foundation contributes for different but charitable purposes such as: the purchase of a new quality instrument, a child's journeys and participation in prestigious competitions and his or hers education with renowned educators," emphasizes R. Kubilienė.
