A very unusual incident happened in match between Chapecoense and Palmeiras on Sunday (4), for the 29th round of Brazil Serie A. The referee Jailson Macedo de Freitas, ejected Egidio after a foul on William Barbio.
With the player already inside locker room, the referee reversed the decision and Egídio returned to the pitch. However, in the summary of the match submitted by the referee, this incident is not mentioned.
"He (referee) said it was wrong and I gave congratulations to him for recognizing the error, "said Egidio to SporTV
Grandson, defender Chapecoense, criticized the referee's decision but said he did not believe in bad intent.
Even with the return, Palmeiras, which was already losing by 1-0, suffered the second goal, scored by Camilo. Interestingly, the play on the goal came exactly on the back of Egidio.
That fact did not affect the result, since Palmeiras team was defeated by 5-1.
