Brittany Romano, a reporter covering the Lindsay Clancy murder trial who says she grew up with the Connecticut native, is facing backlash on social media after she was seen smiling on video inside the courtroom during a break.
The now-viral moment occurred Monday afternoon when the Law & Crime network, which is livestreaming the trial, panned to the gallery as the court returned to session moments after the judge denied the defense's mistrial request over a witness' remarks about Clancy's faith.
Romano did not appear to be in court Tuesday.
