“Tablets still remain a niche device in our country,” says Inga Bitinaitė, a project manager at TNS LT, in a press release.
Worldwide, around 5 percent of population use tablets in 2012, the survey showed. The top rates were recorded in Asia and North America, 13 percent and 12 percent respectively.
For smartphones, the global average rate was 28 percent and the top rates were recorded in Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the UAE, Korea, Norway, and Sweden.
TNS LT surveyed 1,730 Lithuanian residents aged between 15 and 74 years between March and May. The global study Mobile Life 2012, which involved polling of 48,000 people, was conducted in 58 countries.
