Apartment prices down in Vilnius and Tallinn

Apartment prices in Tallinn and Vilnius fell by 2.6 percent and 0.1 percent in January compared with December, respectively, while prices in Riga remained stable, according to monthly index by Ober-Haus Real Estate Advisors.

Year-on-year, the average per-square-meter apartment price rose by 1 percent in Vilnius, by 4.9 percent in Riga and by 7.7 percent in Tallinn.

The average apartment price in Vilnius, at 1,201 euros per square meter, remained the highest among the three Baltic capitals. The average price in Tallinn last month was 1,036 euros and the average price in Riga was 969 euros.

Compared with their peak levels reached in all three Baltic countries in 2007, apartment prices in January were down by 58.3 percent in Riga, by 39.3 percent in Tallinn and by 39.4 percent in Vilnius.
