Cowi would open the center in Vilnius so as to centralize and streamline its activities on five continents, Invest Lithuania, the government’s investment promotion agency, said in a press release.
“The investment complements the list of foreign companies, such as Swedbank, SEB, Nielsen Nielsen, etc., which, having secured a strong foothold in Lithuania, take a decision to move the units performing centralized functions to our country,” Invest Lithuania CEO, Milda Dargužaitė, says.
The decision to establish a center in Vilnius was motivated by good experience of working with Invest Lithuania, a familiar investment environment, the supply of employees with suitable skills and good infrastructure, Betina Carlsen, a Cowi representative, said.
“It took us just six months to make a decision to establish the center as we already have established infrastructure and Cowi Lietuva administration in Lithuania," she said.
Cowi Lietuva is fully owned by Denmark’s Cowi, which claims to be the leading engineering consultancy in Northern Europe.
