"Everything will be clear in autumn. If Lithuanians lack the willingness or capacity to do the work, we will bring in foreign companies. Poles and Danes have already shown interest in renovation in Lithuania," he said in an interview with the daily Lietuvos Rytas published on Monday.

Next year, about a billion litas (EUR 290m) will be available for renovation of residential buildings and a similar amount of money for renovation of administrative buildings, Mazuronis says.

"We have 516 million litas in the Jessica fund at the moment. So, we will be able to renovate around 500-600 buildings. We expect that contracts for next year's work will be signed by the end of the year. Some 15-16 buildings in each municipality will be renovated," he said.
