The Foreign Ministry has compiled preliminary lists of meetings and events and is now adjusting their schedule. According to the ministry, two EU events that will be hosted by Lithuania during the presidency period will be of particular importance to businesses: the information and communication technology conference ICT2013 and the Eastern Partnership meeting, which will be accompanied by a business forum.

The business forum, which will be held on the eve of the Eastern Partnership meeting, will be organized by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK).

“As planned, the forum will take place on the eve of the Eastern Partnership summit. Afterwards, EU president Herman Van Rompuy, EC President Jose Manuel Barroso, the leaders of our countries will be invited and will be informed about the results of the business forum,” Gintaras Morkis, LPK deputy president, told the daily.

Some 300 participants are expected to attend the Eastern Partnership business forum. Lithuania will also host a meeting of Business Europe during the rotating presidency period.
