Lithuania’s external debt per capita grows 16.4 percent in 2011

Lithuania’s external government debt per capita rose by 16.4 percent in 2011 versus 2010, to 9,661.1 litas (EUR 2,800.32) at the end of December, Statistics Lithuania reports.

General government external debt increased by 14.8 percent, or 3.979 billion litas, to 30.909 billion litas, the office said citing data from the Finance Ministry.

Central government external debt totaled 30.758 billion litas at the end of 2011 (99.5 pct of the total external debt), and that of local authorities – 151 million litas (0.5 pct).
