Lithuania's industrial production growth slowed down in June, but with many EU countries posting declines, it remained among the higher ones in the bloc, according to estimates released by the EU statistics office Eurostat on Tuesday.

Lithuania had either the highest or one of the highest year-on-year industrial growth rates in the first half of this year.

Lithuania's industrial production rose by 1.3 percent in June from a year ago after a 23 percent jump in May.

Estonia's industrial production increased by 4.7 percent, the third-biggest rate in the EU, while Latvia registered a 0.4 percent decrease.

Across the EU, industrial production edged up by 0.4 percent.

Month-on-month, Lithuania's industrial production grew by 0.7 percent. The EU's average rate was up by 0.9 percent.
