Citing reports on Pietiek.com and Rus.db.lv, Vz.lt wrote that Snoras' suit could be regarded as the bank's claim to Airbaltic's trademarks and a 47.2-percent stake that the Latvian state took over from Bertolt Flick's Baltijas Aviacijas Sistemas (BAS).
Snoras' spokesman Tomas Vaišvila confirmed to BNS that such a suit had been filed in an effort to restructure the air carrier.
"Snoras, as one of the major creditors, seeks a restructuring of the company, so that it operates, because that would best meet the interests of Snoras' creditors," he told BNS.
This process will be long as it will depend both on Airbaltic itself and on Latvian state institutions, which "play a considerable role," Vaišvila added.
The trademarks and the stake had been earlier pledged to Snoras, a creditor of Airbaltic.
