The operators will be able to use this spectrum to offer 4G services.
Each operator will have to pay a fee of 0.5 million litas (EUR 0.14 m) for a 15-year license. The winners of the tender will have to roll out 4G services in at least five Lithuania’s cities within three years and in at least fifteen cities within five years.
The 2.6 GHz spectrum band, which is now used by MDTV operators, will be freed up from 1 January 2013. As agreed with the RRT, the MDTV operators will use the 2.2 GHz spectrum band instead.
