Orlen Lietuva remains Lithuania's largest company

Orlen Lietuva remained Lithuania's largest company last year and Vilniaus Prekyba held onto its number two position, according to Verslo Žinios' list of the country's top 500 companies.

In the ranking of companies by sales revenue for the first three quarters of 2012, Achemos Grupė moved to the third position, pushing Maxima LT down into fourth.

Some 382 out of the top 500 companies increased their sales over the reporting period, but most of them were still below their levels of the three quarters of 2008.

Enteco Baltic, an energy product trading subsidiary of SBA, posted the strongest year-on-year growth in sales for the three quarters of 2012, at 300 percent. Tauraplastas, a wind turbine parts manufacturer founded by Denmark's BACH Composite Industry, made the biggest jump in the top 500 ranking, moving up 218 positions.

Twenty-seven transport companies and 20 construction companies went up in the ranking.
