The amount does not include payments to small producers of renewable energy sources (RES), according to an annual electricity and natural gas market report to the European Commission that has been worked out by the National Control Commission for Prices and Energy.

Direct payments to producers of electricity from RES from the so-called public service obligations budget are projected to amount to over 115 million litas this year.

The total RES market, not including small producers, may reach 1.76 billion within eight years.

The total amount of electricity produced from RES is forecast to reach 0.82 terawatt-hours this year. If green energy targets are met, production of supported electricity, not including small producers, is likely to increase to 4.4 terawatt-hours in 2020.
