"The number of those who would definitely not agree to work for undeclared wages declined markedly," RAIT Chairwoman Inga Nausėdienė said in a press release.

The percentage of respondents who said they would definitely not agree to be paid illegally was 41 percent at the start of last year.

In the recent poll, 21 percent of respondents said that they were ready to work under any conditions, even to receive all of their salary as envelope wages, i.e., without paying taxes, retirement contribution, or social and health insurance. Twenty-six percent said that they would agree to be paid only a certain part of their salary in "envelopes." Twenty-two percent declined to anwer the question.

RAIT polled 1,018 people between 15 and 74 years old on 10-23 August.
