A respective application to the National Control Commission for Prices and Energy was submitted on July 1, Amber Grid CEO Saulius Bilys told BNS.
Loreta Kimutytė, the panel’s spokeswoman, told BNS that the application would be discussed next Thursday, July 18.
The experts of the commission have recommended issuing the license after studying Amber Grid’s application. According to the regulator’s statement, Amber Grid’s capacities are sufficient to be engaged in licensed operations.
In 2012, the revenues of Lietuvos Dujos on transmission operations totaled 171.85 million litas (EUR 49.8m), down from 177.419 million litas in 2011, the document reads. Its net profit on those operations last year declined to 28.958 million litas, from 40.669 million litas in 2011, while the related operating costs increased to 150.432 million litas, from 138.523 million litas.
The prices regulator should issue the license by July 31, which is the deadline for Lietuvos Dujos to unbundle its transmission operations.
