Baltic Comri Technologies invests in Klaipėda FEZ

The Lithuanian-Danish electrical equipment manufacturer Baltic Comri Technologies (BCT) is investing 1 million Euros in the project for a new manufacturing building in the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone. It is planned that the company, which currently employs more than 80 employees, will be moving into its new premises in the first half of 2021.

BCT purchased a 0.5-hectare plot of land in Klaipėda FEZ where it is planning to start the construction of a 1,900 square metre manufacturing building with administrative premises this year. The construction project will be managed and coordinated by the Klaipėda FEZ subsidiary company – LEZ Projektų Valdymas.

Eimantas Kiudulas, the CEO of Klaipėda FEZ, comments that BCT will not only strengthen the FEZ’s electrical component and high added value manufacturing portfolio but will also act as an excellent indicator to the market about the advantages of Lithuania and its coastal region with supply chains shifting around the world.

“Western companies have for a time now been considering relocating manufacturing closer to home and for such businesses, Lithuania is perhaps the optimal position due to both its geographical location and its readily available skills, infrastructure and cultural similarity. We are pleased that the expansion of BCT is in part a result of this trend. At the same time, we congratulate BCT in joining the largest and most active Western Lithuanian business ecosystem. I have no doubt that the company will establish numerous beneficial partnerships here,” E. Kiudulas stated.

Most of BCT’s production encompasses wiring sets, electrical components, control cabinets and individual solutions. The company trades not only with foreign clients, but also with advanced Lithuanian companies: BCT supplies components to companies such as Light Conversion for lasers) and Elinta (3D leg scanners). BCT also manufactures components for smart headsets used by the Swedish police.

Currently BCT employs over 80 specialists.

Klaipėda FEZ is already host to such electrical component sector companies as Yazaki, Baltijos Eukutekas, Albright International and others.
