Lithuania's new car market last year contracted by nearly 9 percent to 13,763, while new car registrations in Latvia rose by 1 percent to 12,901 and those in Estonia were up by 14 percent to 22,183, the market research company said.
Lithuania accounted for 28.2 percent of the overall new car market in the Baltics, Latvia for 26.4 percent, and Estonia for 45.4 percent.
Volkswagen held the number-one position in the Baltic new car market in 2012, with 6,400 new cars registered. Toyota was second with 5,600 and Skoda was third with 4,100 cars.
