“The European Commission has not yet made its final decision. As far as I know, the European Commission is currently studying this document. According to the information available to us – it is not official yet – they will tell Lithuania to cancel this decision,” he said in an interview to the Lithuanian Radio on Tuesday.
The government was initiating a proposal to cancel this rule, he said.
“I think that the 25 percent rule restricts the fundamental principle of the freedom of choice hence I think that we will have to make amendments in the near time and solve this problem”, Butkevičius said.
