“A Chinese delegation visited the exhibition of Western Lithuanian business achievements, which was held in Klaipėda not so long ago. They promised to make “heaps” of offers but nothing has happened so far, we are still waiting for specific signals,” Viktoras Krolis, CEO of Klaipėda Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, told the daily.
Eimantas Kiudulas, CEO of the company managing the free economic zone (FEZ) of Klaipėda, projected that the Chinese would follow a similar strategy for several more years.
“We think that the Chinese will keep looking for two or three more years. China prefers to buy European companies instead of building new ones, whereas there are not so many attractive companies on sale in Lithuania,” Kiudulas said.
