Tomas Vaišvila, Snoras spokesman, confirmed to BNS that the creditors filed 27,700 claims.

“The bankruptcy administrator on Wednesday submitted detailed Snoras’ creditor claims to the court for evaluation. The total amount of creditor claims is 9.4 billion litas; however, some of these claims are being challenged hence the final amount of claims that will be approved by the court may change considerably,” the bank said in a press release.

Each creditor claim had been analyzed by comparing the data provided by the creditor with the bank’s data, Snoras said.

Gintautas Stalnionis, spokesman of Vilnius Regional Court, told BNS that he could not confirm the information at the moment.

The deadline for Snoras bankruptcy administrator to submit the list of creditors to the court for approval was on 12 March. The bank received 27,370 creditor claims by 10 February, i.e. the deadline set forth by the court.

State-owned Deposit and Investment Insurance Fund, which paid out 4,004 billion litas in state-insured deposits to Snoras’ depositors, is Snoras’ largest creditor.

The date when the first meeting of Snoras’ creditors will be held has not yet been set but it is expected in May.

The bank’s assets totaled 8.141 billion litas at the end of September 2011. Its deposit portfolio made up 6.077 billion litas, including 4.035 billion litas in retail deposits, and the loan portfolio was worth 3.699 billion litas.

Bankruptcy proceedings against Snoras were opened on 7 December.
